The Project:
Build out the foundation for a 130,000 SF entertainment complex including a two-story movie theater with 12 auditoriums located on the second floor.
The Challenge:
Our work needs to be completed while the Montclair Mall is still open for business. This means completing our construction projects while working around existing obstacles and the everyday mall traffic. Also, the tight working space and multiple trades working all at once makes scheduling and safety an ever-changing trial.
Our Work:
During footing excavation and while the structural steel contractor was erecting the steel, RHCI had to work closely with the GC, steel subcontractor and our operations team to ensure all trades were completed on time and in a safe manner. This challenge required several preplanning meetings with all parties.
End Result:
The footing excavation and steel erection were completed safely and on time. We also were able to complete our work on the 12 auditoriums (with stadium seating and acoustical flooring) without a hitch.
